Mackenzie has a portions of a transcribed interview with Nintendo’s Canadian vice president and general manager, Ron Bertram. While the vast majority of what he said was stuff we already know, one interesting tidbit turned up:

“We’re looking at a million (units) for North America at launch,” said Bertram. “When Sony came out (with their PS3 announcement), they said 300,000.

So there you have it, we’re only going to get 1 million consoles at launch. With the buzz this thing has already generated, a shortage is almost guaranteed. So if you haven’t preordered already, I suggest you do so, otherwise you could be in for a long wait.

    Hi everyone.
With the launch of the Nintendo Wii just around the corner, will you purchase one?
If so, what are you most looking forward to about the system?
