If you’ve been keeping up with the news in the Linux community I’m sure articles about XGL and Compiz have been presented to you and you are now blue in the face because of it. However, it’s also equally as likely that you might not know how to actually install the software on your nVidia card wielding Ubuntu desktop. I was originally going to write an article on this myself, but since Linux Journal has done such a good job of it, I’ll simply refer you to them. If you don’t have a laptop with an nVidia card though, fear not. I have a tutorial on how to set up AIGLX and Compiz on Ubuntu that you can use, and I’m planning to present a tutorial with ATi users in mind on here at some point.
