Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam video (Wii)

The above is a promotional video by Activision demonstrating the Wii version of the Nintendo-exclusive Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam. The game is played with the Wii remote, which provides for a new control style in which you tilt the remote to move and balance the skater, and you shake the remote to recover from a bail. This is in stark contrast to the old way of using the D-pad or analog stick to move and automatically recovering from a bail. It will be interesting to play this to see how solid the control is with the Wii remote, although from the video it appears to be pretty smooth.

Every game looks good on the Wii, I hate skateboarding… and all sports games. But even Tony Hawk looks good on this system!

AFAIK, you don’t HAVE to shake the remote to get up, just to get up faster. I believe you will still automatically get up like in previous games, but you can speed it up in this version by shaking the remote, whereas in past Tony Hawk games you could press a bunch of buttons rapidly to get up faster.
