Futurama on 80’s video games
Published August 4th, 2006 in GamingThis clip features video game references to Pac Man/Ms. Pac Man, Space Invaders, Mario, and Donkey Kong, as well as to Shasta and Rush. The infamous “All your base are belong to us!” Engrish reference also makes an appearance. Quite hilarious.

Saw this on Kotaku… funny video. I love the part when the tank rolls by the White house… I played that game back in the day on the old mac machines before OSX… I can’t remember the name of the game, but I would know it if I saw it.
I think Spectre VR is Mac/PC game you are thinking of, which is reminiscent of BattleZone, the 80s game referenced in this video.
YES OMFG!!! Im so sure someone pulled that outa the air! I had nearly like 30 people tell me today Battlezone… i know its battlezone but I wanted to know the mac version!!! YES SPECTRE!!!

nope the game with the tank was Battle Zone, loved that game.
oh, wait, mac version? mac dont have video games, and it was the arcade version, any way I’ll finish reading comments before I post again, or something.
The mac version WAS spectre but nice try Mors
I like how the egg from Burger Time walks out of the Space Invader ship. They covered the spectrum
Some of you are maybe too young to remember Maelstrom. I used to play it on the old Apple IIs at school. I guess they have a version out for OSX now:

Dudes, no one noticed the Doom reference? “You need the blue key.”
Damn, I can’t believe I missed that.
Was that blue key reference to Doom or Adventure for the 2600? I don’t remember if there was a blue key in Adventure or not.
Rob you are a genius! It is from adventure, I can’t tell you how long that has been bugging me. I knew it was from an old old game, and even though the episode commentary refers to doom, thats only the message on the door, not the key itself!
Thanks
Thank God I found your post! Saw a re-run of this Futurama episode a few weeks ago, saw the blue key above a door, and that graphic of the key has been driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t remember where it was from, but I used to play that game for hours as a kid. I remember that the blue key was always in the same spot in the maze, but the other keys moved around and those dumb dragons would eat you.
Thanks again! Now I can sleep!
