Apple launches MacBook Pro battery exchange program.
Published August 1st, 2006 in TechnologyApple has launched a battery exchange program for certain models of 15-inch MacBook Pro batteries. According to the site, this is not due to a safety issue, but rather that the batteries are simply not up to spec. Specifically, the issues with the batteries are mainly misreporting of battery life, and ignoring status polling, random shutoffs (probably an indirect result of the other 2 problems). Well, at least they don’t explode I suppose.
