I tested this camera for a client. I didn’t have the light running for more than 15 minutes. The battery lasted approximately 6 hours before recharging. The LCD, however, had a few dead pixels - never saw this before. Tried returning for exchange and had to put up quite a fight. Anyone else seen this?

[...] Say you go blind in a freak laptop explosion (hey, it can happen). I feel for ya. It sucks. You’re now disabled. Get over it and call a spade a spade. You’ve lost an ability. Unless you somehow managed to develop x-ray vision in the accident, you’re not differently-abled. It’s not the end of the world, however, and I’m sure you’ll find ways compensate. There’s no sense in diluting the blow with bullshit happyspeak. [...]

[...] With the recent incidence of laptops having issues with exploding batteries, paying attention to battery recalls has become a priority for the safety of laptop users. People don’t seem to know about the recalls, probably because manufacturers don’t tend to publicize them that heavily, instead you have to seek them out. The purpose of this post is inform laptop users of these issues, and make it easy to resolve them. So here are the affected products: [...]

[...] It’s not just Dell laptops which have an exploding battery problem. Now we have PowerBooks doing it too. The battery recall was issued quite a while ago for iBook G4s and PowerBook G4s, but it appears that people who didn’t heed the warning are now paying the price. Also, there’s a MacBook Pro battery exchange program as well, so if you have one of those it might be a good idea to check that out. A word of advice: If you own a laptop, start checking the manufacturer’s recall program pages frequently. Who knows which company will be next? [...]
