Another day, another Dell laptop explosion.
Published July 31st, 2006 in TechnologyThis is the third Dell laptop to spontaneously explode in just over a month. This time, the victim was a man in Signapore and the Dell laptop in question is a Latitude D410. I wonder what’s going to happen first, will Dell finally do a product recall on their run of affected laptop batteries, or will “Dude you got a Dell!” suddenly become recognized as a product warning rather than a marketing slogan?

Update: Dell has issued a battery recall for the following laptops:
- Latitude D410, D505, D510, D600, D610, D800, D810
- Inspiron 510M, 600M, 6000, 8600, 9200, 9300, XPS Gen 2
- Precision M20, M70
If you have one of these laptops, I’d recommend you go here unless you want the above to happen to you.

I tested this camera for a client. I didn’t have the light running for more than 15 minutes. The battery lasted approximately 6 hours before recharging. The LCD, however, had a few dead pixels - never saw this before. Tried returning for exchange and had to put up quite a fight. Anyone else seen this?
